Leave your husband

April 24, 2018

Do you ever go out with girlfriends for an evening (or even a weekend?!) and think to yourself that it's just too much of a hassle?  In order to leave the house for an evening of 'dad in charge',

you need to first make sure dinner is prepped, the kids have rides to and from all of their scheduled activities, their pjs are set out and ready, they are bathed, homework is done, etc???

I don't!

Here's what you need to do...LEAVE YOUR HUSBAND!  No, I don't mean forever and I'm not a feminist hear-me-roar type of person.  I am the wonderfully lucky wife of a divorced man.  Yep, you heard that right.  I have told people numerous times, that the best thing to have happened to my my marriage was when his ex-wife walked out on him.  Not because I get him now (which is absolutely the amazing part) but because it forced him to figure out how to do ALL the things!  He was a single father for 2 years before we met.  He had primary custody of the girls.  He can cook, clean, do laundry, bathe the kids, and is self-proclaimed (on our first date he told me this) the best pony-tailer this side of the Mississippi.

Now, I don't expect you all to go and leave your husbands...please don't!

But go out with girlfriends (call me if you need a buddy!).  And when you leave, don't prepare dinner, get them organized, or even bathe the kids!  Leave him with a pile of laundry, dirty kids, 4 different schedules, and nothing to eat.  Trust him.  If he ends up feeding the kids lucky charms and their pjs are on backwards (if at all), OH WELL!

However, I bet you that he will really amaze you!
